Notice how many times in an hour
You want, need, or desire
Perhaps you want to consume
This or that
Or you wish you were standing, sitting, or running
From the thing that’s currently happening
What happens to the mind-body
When we are unsatisfied
Can create a bit of a rollercoaster ride
When you want
To change something right away
Or perhaps complain along the way
This says, “I am experiencing lack”
Which can feel like a set fact
When in fact
Even if just for a second
You reflect rather than react
The experience you create
Will feel less like a setback
And more like you’re getting on track
To the center of your Being
Your inner core
The place you hold steady
All that you are ready for
So the next time you wish, want, or need
Take a deep breath
And ask,
“Is this really Me
Or a reaction to how I think I should be?”
